I REALLY want this job, despite the fact that it would involve a rather lengthy commute into the city.

It is a content development position for a company that does business intelligence stuff. It would combine my writing skills and my data analysis skills into a position that would offer me 80K/year.

It IS in San Francisco, but is literally a block away from the BART station, so public transportation is totally an option.

I just had a phone interview with the hiring manager and I think it went very well. She's going to have me come in next week to meet the team and I need to come up with a writing/presentation sample between now and then. I just have to figure out what to write.

I REALLY, REALLY would love to get this job. Inviting all positive thoughts/prayers/mojo, etc.

Oh oh BEST OF LUCK! :D Sounds like you've done rather well so far!
I loathe the waiting period in between sending applications (interview) and hearing back.

Also, that is a lot of money. still a student

It is certainly a step up for me. My last job was around 62K/year, so this increase would certainly make me a happy camper.

And yes, I also hate that whole waiting period thing. It is very demoralizing.

Public defenders here in Boston make 37.5k/year. Not that that's what I want to do (nor can I apply for such jobs, because I'm still a student) but. Maybe the cost of living for you is even higher than for me?

Cost of living here really is ridiculous. Mostly in the areas of housing and gas, but in other areas too.

I live alone and I have months when I barely make ends meet on that 62k.

Of course, I also travel a lot, so I don't always spend my money in the best ways.
